Why we are in Berlin

The Berlin agenda is unusually close to home. One of the day's deep-dive sessions is titled Thermal Storage vs. BESS. Others cover decentralised energy supply for industrial sites and best practice for decarbonising district heating in Europe.

These are exactly the trade-offs our customers work through before they sign: store electricity as heat or as electrons, electrify now or wait, carry the capex or buy the steam. We have spent ten years and two commercial installations answering those questions in practice including the thermal energy storage unit at KALL Ingredients in Hungary.

We are not presenting this year. We are there to compare notes, and to show what the answers look like on a real factory site.

What can you expect from Energy meets Industries 2026?

• Keynotes and panels on resilience, carbon management, water as a production factor, and digitalisation, with speakers from BDI, 50Hertz, CEMEX, Statkraft, Schneider Electric and others.
• Deep-dive sessions on thermal storage, decentralised industrial energy supply and European district heating.
• Start-up and innovation pitches on decarbonisation.
• An evening programme on November 4th at the Moabit Power Plant, opened by Tanja Gönner, CEO of the BDI.
